   Joseph and Lillian Gix

The early 20th century was a time of change but not all couples were up to the challenge. This couple was. Joseph came from Germany in 1888 and became a blacksmith. By the 1920's, however, there were more cars than horses. With Lillian's support, I'm sure, his occupation in 1927 was listed as auto repair.
