Louis and Junie Jato
                1889
Charles and Louisa were both born in Germany and came to Columbus with their parents as children. Love bloomed in their new country and they were married in 1852. They enjoyed a long life together and celebrated a fiftieth anniversary with their six children in 1902.

Conrad and Catherine Schmidt
                 1864
Conrad, recently arrived from Bavaria, was looking for both a job and a wife. The German community of Columbus was good to him on both counts. By 1864 he found both Margaretta and a job as sexton at the new St. Mary's Church.
