Biographical Notes:
Joe Kraus was born in 1859 in Bavaria, His mother was Marie.
He worked as a carpenter in 1891, then went on to work for the railroad, first as a breakman(1901), then as a conductor (1908).
Leo Schmitzer was 90 years old in 1908 and lived with his grandson Joe, who was born in 1884. He had a wife Katherine, and they had children William, Anna, Joe, and Agnes.
