Biographical Notes:
Gottleib Schweinfurth was born in 1816 and died at the age of 57 in 1873. He worked as a machinist (1864), a laborer (1872),
John L Waldschmidt was born about 1868 in Ohio, was married to Rose, and, according to the 1920 Federal Census, had a daughter Jane. He and his brothers operated the last surviving blacksmith shop at this location in German Village.
